An update, Finally.

I have been neglectful of updating this blog, I wish I had more time, but there seems to be a never ending third helping on my plate at all times. I think I am going to try to be more involved with my blogs etc., but as social media constantly evolves, I do my best to put content where it will reach the most people (Facebook, for now).

Lately,  the completely non productive things I have been getting into is online comics such as Questionable Content. (questionablecontent.net). When I first really had a presence online (1996 or so) I had all my graphic novels on my website, and got emails from people all over who read them. I didn't know of many people who were working in comics back then, so I'm thrilled to see a lot of new generation artists and writers in the industry of all backgrounds and from all over who now make a living doing their craft. There's some really beautiful work out there. I took my graphic novels down off my website some time ago because my art moved on to other things (bunnies!), but always though about the work I did then and doing more of it at some point. Now they are in print (and digital download) - www.magcloud.com/browse/magazine/712873 Ukiah is probably my favorite, because we both see dogs the same way, but the unfinished last piece I wrote called Invoice reminds me a lot of the time I wrote it, and the person I was then.

I don't post a lot of my personal life online, but I will say now the last four years have involved some huge and hard changes in my life, and my art has shifted around too. Sometimes I really struggled, and other times I was at the top of the world. Life continues to teach me to really appreciate kindness, generosity, friends and the internet, because that allows me to continue to make my art.

I'm working on a lot of things right now, selling my books on Amazon, putting together the 2015 calendar (Tea with Rabbit!), kicking around a possible new tarot, and figuring out what my next big project will be. In my free time (usually the 15 minutes before I fall asleep) I am writing a story about a Moose named Nikolai.

I am turning 45 in October, and never thought I would be so lucky as I am now. Thank you.

Balls

A little cartoon from my life fostering dogs.

Baxter has an adoption pending! He and other puppies can be found at
peachpuppies.org

He has the most beautiful eyes of any dog I have ever met, blue green for one and a sea-green-amber for the other. So unique!

Baby Baxter!

Badgers Forest Tarot

I'm very excited because I just launched my Kickstarter to help get funds for my latest tarot deck, the Badgers Forest Tarot. I've never tried this kind of funding before, so I'm a bit anxious to see if it will work. I really like the idea, and have supported several other creative people using Kickstarter for their projects.

Here's the link-

This new tarot is the most detailed and difficult one I've made so far. It also took a long time, as it was a project I kept putting off then going back to. I wanted each painting to really stand out on it's own as a painting, not just an illustration or rendering of an idea. It was also created over a difficult time in my life with many personal changes and challenges.

I really like self publishing these decks, as the control I have over the production and the ability to interact with people buying them.  Ironically my last foster dog was called Badger, so I think that's a good sign.
